Standing with Lynn Wood: A Voice for Coalville
Last night, the Summit County Republican Party Executive Committee voted unanimously to endorse Lynn Wood in her campaign for municipal office in Coalville. This is more than a political endorsement. It is a recognition of a woman who has spent years serving her community with integrity, fairness, and a steady hand.
Lynn is not new to public service. She has built a reputation in Coalville as a neighbor who listens and a leader who acts. When the county took up the difficult question of districting, Lynn stood up for fairness. She fought to ensure that the people of Coalville and other smaller towns in Summit County would not be drowned out by outside voices. She understands that representative government only works when every community has a seat at the table.
This race is not just about two names on a ballot. Lynn’s opponent happens to be the current chair of the Summit County Democratic Party and is backed heavily by political and financial interests from Park City. That should raise eyebrows for anyone who cares about local representation. Coalville deserves leadership rooted in Coalville values—not in the agendas of outside donors or party insiders.
The Summit County GOP believes that strong communities are built from the ground up. That means supporting candidates who reflect the priorities of their neighbors and who put service above politics. Lynn Wood has shown she is exactly that kind of leader. She is committed to integrity, accountability, and practical solutions that make life better for the people she represents.
Our Executive Committee’s resolution does more than put our name behind her. We are calling on Republicans across Summit County to rally behind Lynn, lend a hand, and make sure her voice—and by extension, Coalville’s voice—is heard loud and clear in this election.
This campaign is about fairness. It is about keeping government close to the people it serves. And it is about making sure Coalville’s future is shaped by those who live here, work here, and raise their families here.
Lynn Wood represents the best of what local leadership should look like. We are proud to stand with her, and we invite every Republican in Summit County to do the same.
